Vintage mid century 60s rustic Fat Lava handmade ceramic vase by designer Helge Pfaff for Bückeburg Ceramic.
Bückeburg Keramik operated in the town of Bückeburg, near Hanover in Lower Saxony, Germany. The company started in 1912 and continued in operation until 1971. Bückeburg produced vases and wall plaques, which often were decorated with fish and images of vases and flowers. The main designer was Helge Pfaff. They produced vases but are most known for their wall plaques which had varied designs including fish and images of vases. Very dark brown clay was used. Some items are marked with stickers, ink marks or stamped with the company symbol and name. Some items, usually the wall plaques are signed by Helge Pfaff. Other items are unmarked.
